No fight between police and civil defence – Police PRO (NSCDC VS NPF).

A police officer threatens to shoot Abolurin and other NSCDC officials.

On 22 August, NSCDC alleged that a police inspector attempted to fire at Abolurin in Ikorodu, Lagos. The Corps, on Friday, also alleged that about 10 policemen launched an attack on its men in front of the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Emmanuel Ojukwu, however, on Sunday debunked the rumours of a rift between the Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Ojukwu,
the acting Commissioner of Police, told NAN in Lagos on phone that the police and the NSCDC were members of the same family, working for one purpose. He dismissed reports that some policemen attacked NSCDC operatives by their headquarters in Abuja as untrue.“The Police and the Civil Defence are one family. Our relationship is that of a brother and sister of the same family. We don’t have any problem with them.Abolurin gestures at his men to stand down“All the negative stories going round town about different attacks are not true,” he said.According to him, the police is still investigating the alleged attempt by a police inspector to fire at the Commandant General of the Civil Defence Corps
