FFP: Mourinho calls on UEFA to dock points, strip titles from Manchester City, PSG

Mourinho 6Ahead of Sunday’s clash against Manchester City, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, has called on UEFA to take points and titles from clubs that fall short of the Financial Fair Play rules.
Mourinho insisted that fines and squad restrictions will have not a big impact on these rich clubs.

“Everybody knows there are fines and, if these fines exist, control exists,” Mourinho said in an interview with Portuguese broadcasters, TVI.
“But are fines fair? I don’t think so. In my opinion the first thing is to remove points and remove titles.”
The former Real Madrid boss, also stated that clubs that fail to comply with FFP, should be thrown out of the Champions League.
“If you have important capital which allows you to overcome the FFP; if you win titles and then you are fined economically, you keep doing the same thing.
“They will take from you one or two players from the Champions League list. Then, instead of 24, you go with 22. But if you’re stating that you will start the next Champions League with six points fewer, or you won’t play in the next edition of the Champions League and go into the Europa League instead, it’s more serious.’”
City, Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit St Petersburg are some of the clubs that UEFA punished this year, for breaking FFP rules.
City were asked to pay a £50million fine – although it could be reduced if they comply in future. Their squad for this year’s Champions League was also cut down to 21 players.
