Franch Man Invents Pills That Makes Farts Smell Like Chocolate

A French inventor has said the pills he developed is able to make bodily gases smell like chocolate and the brilliant idea was inspired by a particularly flatulent meal he had with his friends. UPI reports:

Christian Poincheval, 65, of Gesvres, said his Lutin Malin — or Crafty Imp — line of pills can make a customer’s bodily gases smell like chocolate, roses or violets. Poincheval developed the chocolate scent specially for Christmas.

Corpses litter Bama as Boko Haram insurgents claim victory

There's been report that the streets of Bama in Maiduguri have been taken over by littered corpses two days after the militants claimed authority over the second largest Borno town. The report says Boko Haram fighters are currently patrolling the streets of Bama, stopping residents from burying littered corpses.  Confirming the report however, Ahmed Zanna , Senator from Borno state said that no one is allowed to torch littered corpses. The Borno State government on Wednesday denied that the town had fallen to the insurgents.

Senior Civil Servants Shut Down 104 Unity Schools

The 104 Federal Unity Colleges (FUCs) throughout the country have been shut down indefinitely by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).
This was contained in a statement signed by its secretary-general, Alade Bashir Lawal on Friday in Lagos.
This follows a nationwide strike embarked upon by thousands of education officers in the Federal Ministry of Education, and inspectorate departments, including the unity colleges under the umbrella of the association to prevail on the federal government to pay them their outstanding salaries and promotion arrears as well as other entitlements owed them for several years.
In a statement issued in Calabar, Cross River State, at the weekend and signed by the ASCSN secretary-general, Comrade Alade Bashir Lawal, the union stated that the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Education as well as the inspectorate departments of the ministry throughout the country would also be under lock and key from Monday 22nd September 2014.
‘’The issues in dispute include but not limited to non-payment of outstanding promotion arrears for 2007-2010 and the balance of 2011 promotion arrears; promotion arrears for 2012-2013; unpaid salaries to some staff for July, August, September, and October 2013; end-of-year incentives; non-payment of 1st 28 days in lieu of hotel accommodation; 2010 head of service organised mandatory training allowance, repatriation allowance, duty tour allowance, non-placement of promoted officers, etc,’’ the union emphasised.
It also stated that the federal ministry of Education admitted that N1.8 billion was released to it this year by the federal government to settle all outstanding liabilities including salaries and allowances.
The union therefore wondered if this large sum of money has entered into ‘’voice mail’’ as usual.

South African rugby legends train Nigerians

South Africa’s Danie Gerber and Breyton Paulse arrived in Lagos on Wednesday as guests of the Nigerian Rugby Football Federation. Since they touched down aboard a South African Airways flight in the early hours, they have been busy talking with the Nigerian rugby community around the dinner tables but more importantly helping the players on the pitch.

They started with the young players at the Kings College pitch in Lagos on Wednesday and have continued with sessions with the Nigerian national team.

Paulse explained their mission when he spoke with the Nigerian media on arrival and through their sessions with the teams. He said, “We are aware of the level of the game in Nigeria and so what we have come to do is to help make it possible for more Nigerians to understand, love and play the game excellently.

“Rugby gave us so much and that’s what we are trying to give back to the society. We know football is the biggest in Nigeria but we are leaving some wonderful marks of rugby in Nigeria. We are indeed very thrilled.”

FG Defends $9.3 Million Cash Seized in South Africa

federal government is reportedly defending the seized $9.3 million cash transported to South Africa from Abuja by two Nigerians and an Israeli via a business jet.
